  • Upon that quaint road, houses filled with gold in Saint Lucia’s parade. It is a quivering show, looking at it from the shore, in that first line of warm painted red and pearl abodes. We capitulate the season and light up the candles to keep up the tradition of this Yuletide season. Light the fire, held our hands warm.   • As I stand here, comfortably wrapped in my bed blankets, looking out the window admiring the spectacle of trees dancing and wrapping leaves and branches into one another, I finally remember that we are at a mere 12 days till Christmas.   • To every traveler, there is the plan devised and the actual journey itself. And on that account, one often romanticize the little impertinences that is submitted to. The uncomfortable mattress, the rain falling impiously days on end, the lost luggage at the airport. For any traveler more prone to this kind of discords, this small matters are large enough to forecast poorly the whole ordeal. For me. It’s quite the contrary. I rather find it all much more interesting. So yes. I am currently sitting here, in that far, far away land. With no bags, rain falling outside, but with a very comfortable bed. And happy.   • I’ve been filling up my bag so many times lately, I’m getting kind of a pro at it. After Paris, my venture takes me north where snow is a common language and cold finds it’s way into the fringes of my sweater.   • The boxes are in the attic, collecting layers of dust on top of each other. They remain hidden throughout the year - from Kings day to the first advent of December - weaving memories of family gatherings and Christmas carols playing on the radio. Orange slices are in the oven filling the rooms with that cozy feeling of winter. The ginger cookies on the table, candles placed on holders, wreaths of pine trees are decorated and mistletoes garlands carefully arranged on the entry. And while at it, I open the wooden boxes, set apart the silky paper and uncover those familiar little family heirlooms that have been collected for ages. Happy advent my friends.
